The curriculum development committee (CDC) at Basrah university medical college takes the responsibility of revising and developing the curriculum contents to meet the objectives and the suggested changes approved by the college council.
Through the administration of microbiology curriculum, students are trained on gaining knowledge and understanding of the basis for the causation and prevention of microbial diseases. These can be achieved by lectures, tutotrials , practical sessions , seminars and discussion through interactive ideas sharing small groups teaching. Daily assessment through homework, quizzes and active performance in practical sessions in order to inforce and apply knowledge and skills tought to them. Handout of the theoretical lectures and practicals are available to students, programmed schedule is implemented which was useful as evidenced by student’s performance and feedback.
The department applies the classical subject based learning which is introduced centrally by the Ministry of Higher education and Scientific Research for undergraduate studies.
